Crystal Palace beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles edged a remarkably tight game at the AMEX Stadium, with Jordan Ayew scoring the only goal of the game to give Roy Hodgson’s men their first ever top-flight win on the south coast.

Palace have now won two games in a row, following their 1-0 victory over Newcastle United last week, and are now 12th in the Premier League, 12 points clear of the relegation zone.

Of course, the win marked something of a turning point for Hodgson’s men, who, prior to the win over Newcastle, had not won in 2020.

And one image summed up how important the victory was.

It is rare to see a group of players lock hands and take something of a bow in front of their fans.

They did just that, however, with the Palace supporters naturally raucous after a derby win.

Indeed, following Ayew’s goal, they set off a smoke bomb that swiftly enveloped the pitch.

Did he really play for us?! No Palace fan has managed to name all of these obscure Eagles signings….

Palace are now just four points off the magical 40-mark that is often said to guarantee survival and the importance was reflected in the celebrations of the players.

They face Watford next weekend prior to a clash with AFC Bournemouth; take four points from those games and survival may well be confirmed.

Meanwhile, these players should have caught Palace’s eye!
