The 22-year-old cut inside one defender and unleashed an unstoppable strike into the top corner from the edge of the box to make it 1-1 in the Liga clash on Saturday at Estadio Coliseum. That was the United loanee's fourth goal of the season for the Spanish side since joining them for the 2023-24 campaign this summer. Borja Mayoral then scored on the stroke of half-time to make it 2-1 to cancel out Largie Ramazani's opener for Almeria.

Greenwood is back playing football following more than a year away from the game after being suspended by United in January 2022 as he wasarrested on suspicion of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control.Those charges were dropped inFebruary 2023but United told himtoseek pastures new to continue his careerfollowing the culmination of a lengthy internationalinvestigation. The young forward is now beginning to shine on the pitch for Getafe.

After this match, Greenwood and Getafe take on Las Palmas in La Liga on Friday. As for his future with United, it doesn't seem likely that he'll be brought back into the first-team setup at Old Trafford, with his contract due to expire in 2025, with the option of an additional year.
